You're mid-exam-season, mid-reel, probably mid-something right now. This isn't asking for your attention. It's just for whenever you have five minutes to spare.
Some 10-minutes turned into 20. A conversation trailed off mid-sentence and picked back up an hour later. Normal, honestly... you're buried in exams and your phone is doing what phones do.
But my brain, being my brain, turned that into a whole main character moment. So this week was a little rough. Not because of anything you did wrong. Just because I'm like this, and you're studying, and those two things occasionally collide.
I got overwhelmed and let it all spill out sideways instead of just saying what I actually meant. Threw a bunch of half formed feelings at you and called it a conversation. Not fair to you, especially with everything else you've got going on right now.
Somewhere in there, a bunch of small stuff bundled up in my head... you diverting mid conversation a lot, you not sending snaps back the way I send them every day... and it all came out as one dumb question: "you just lost interest in me?" That wasn't fair to ask, and it wasn't even true. That was me stacking small things into a scary story, not you actually pulling away.
I'm sorry for disturbing your mind when it needed to be calm, not chaotic. You deserved a better version of me yesterday. Working on giving you that one from now on.
You say "back in 10," it becomes 20, and I know... I know... it's usually just Instagram or a show pulling you in a little longer than planned. That's not a crime. That's just being a person with a phone.
But the story my brain writes in that gap doesn't get the memo. It starts asking questions nobody asked. That's on my wiring, not on you being careless. I just wanted to say that part out loud instead of letting it sit quietly and turn into something bigger than it is.
Not a demand. Just one small thing that would help my brain stop writing movies.
Yeah, I'm an attention seeker. But not for just anyone... I don't want the world's attention, I want yours. You're not competing with anybody for it. You already won that, no contest, the day I decided you're the one who matters this much.
So here's an actual permission slip: call me. Whenever. Don't ask "can I call you"... just call. If I'm mid-something I'll tell you, but you never need to ask permission to reach me.
And here's the harder secret: if I'm down and you ask "can I call you" or "can I hug you," I might actually say no. That's not really me talking... that's some dumb pride reflex talking. The real answer, every single time, is yes. So next time, don't take my no at face value. Call anyway. Show up anyway. Now you know pretty much all of it.
I know we're new. I know by most timelines it's "too soon" to feel this much. I've never really been someone who does things on a timeline.
All I actually care about is us... you, me, whatever this turns into. Bumpy weeks included. Especially bumpy weeks included, honestly, because those are the ones that show me you're still here, still trying, stickers and all.
Take the reels break if you need it. Just tell me you're taking it.
